Understanding the Legislative Process

NPA’s Early Career Psychologist Committee is hosting an event November 29th from 6–8 pm featuring two experienced psychologists, Will Spaulding, Ph.D., and Joe Swoboda, Ph.D., with a wealth of knowledge of the political and legislative issues that have been most relevant to the practice of psychology in Nebraska over the years. Their presentation is aimed at educating psychologists on the history and current status of political and legal issues that impact a variety of aspects of psychological practice including:

  • the availability of jobs,
  • reimbursement in private practice,
  • ethics,
  • licensure regulations, and
  • both historical and current legislation that directly impact psychologists and consumers.
Drs. Spaulding’s and Swoboda’s advocacy has helped to address numerous challenges to our profession and our consumers. NPA is pleased to offer our members an opportunity to learn more about these important issues. The event will include both an informative component as well as an opportunity for questions and discussion. This event is open to all NPA members. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.
